Most of the house, one plan

Whole-Home Renovations in Loganville

Staying Put While the House Changes

Most families can live in the house while we renovate it, as long as the job is planned that way. We split the house into sections, seal off whichever one is open, and keep a bathroom and a basic kitchen going wherever the layout lets us. Floors linking the sections stay papered throughout.

Occasionally every room has to open at once, and a few weeks elsewhere is simpler. If that's your project, you'll hear it on the first call.

What the Renovation Can Cover

  • New floor plans

Walls come out or move to open a kitchen to the family room, straighten an awkward hall or resize bedrooms. Load-bearing questions are answered before a demolition date is set.

  • Updated pipes and wiring

Supply lines, drains and circuits are rerouted during framing, when walls are already open, so finished rooms never have to be cut back into later.

  • Kitchens and baths in sequence

When both rooms are on the list, they're scheduled apart, so you're never without a working toilet and rarely without a place to cook.

  • Finishes that match

Trim, doors, paint colors and hardware are chosen once and carried room to room, so the finished house reads as one project instead of several.

What to Decide Early

  • Which rooms you need

Pick the bedroom, bathroom and corner of the kitchen you must keep during each phase. The order of work and the dust barriers are planned around them.

  • Stay or step out

Phased work lets most families stay. When nearly every room opens at once, a few weeks away can shorten the job and spare everyone the dust.

  • Pre-1978 paint

Older coats on a house built before 1978 may hold lead. When testing confirms it, sanding and tear-out are handled with lead-safe containment, and that extra prep is priced separately.

Whole-Home Renovation Questions

How much dust reaches the rooms we're living in?

Very little when the containment is done right. Each phase is sealed with plastic, the path to it is covered and the area is cleaned daily. Fine dust can still find gaps, so we also cover belongings in the rooms next door.

Does a full renovation need permits?

Usually. Moving walls, adding circuits and rerouting drains generally call for them. We'll tell you what your particular job is likely to need, and we build so it passes inspection.

A Whole House Is Easier With a Plan
